ABOUT

bpmc 05.jpg

We are a welcoming community of moms living in Braeswood Place and the surrounding neighborhoods of Houston. Made up of friends and neighbors, our group is a place where mothers can connect, share experiences, and build meaningful relationships. We support and encourage one another through every stage of motherhood. Whether you’re a new mom or a seasoned parent, you’ll find friendship, understanding, and a sense of belonging here.

President

I’m a native Houstonian, and my husband and I moved to Braeswood Place in 2017 before starting our family. I spent over a decade working in commercial property management before stepping away to focus on raising our children. I was introduced to BPMC right in the thick of my first year as a new mom, and I felt an immediate connection with other women navigating the same season of life. It was incredibly refreshing to share the joys, challenges, and beautiful chaos of motherhood with moms who truly understood. I’m honored to serve as president of this organization and am passionate about helping our community feel more connected.

Communications

I moved to Braeswood Place in December 2024 from Boston with my husband and our two young daughters. While we relocated for my husband's job, l've worked in healthcare for 15+ years and am continuing my studies here in Houston. Thanks to the Braeswood Place Mom's Club, we quickly found our "village." The social events, local resources, and spot-on recommendations (from childcare to where to get my nails done) — plus the incredibly welcoming families — made this community feel like home fast. I joined the board to give back to the group that supported us from day one. When I'm not juggling mom life, I love traveling, learning new things, and connecting with other moms.

I spent my entire life in Northern California before relocating to Houston, Texas, in 2019. During my time in California, I worked for over a decade in State Government. Relocating was nerve-wracking, and I questioned whether I would have a sense of community in Texas. In 2021, my husband, daughter, and I made Braeswood Place our home. Shortly thereafter we expanded our family with the arrival of our baby boy. I joined the Mom’s Club before I had even finished unpacking my new home. As a first-time mom and stay-at-home mom, I was eager to build friendships with women in the same stage of life. The community quickly became an incredible resource—neighbors were always willing to help, whether it was sharing school information, lending a Halloween costume, or picking up a package while I was out of town. The friendships I’ve made through the Mom’s Club kept me happily busy during this new phase of life and have exceeded anything I could have imagined. I feel incredibly fortunate to have found this organization and truly cherish the connections I’ve built with both fellow board members and club members. In my spare time, though it’s limited, I enjoy exploring Houston’s restaurant and coffee scene, spending time at local parks, and making memories with my friends and loved ones.

Community Outreach

I grew up in The Woodlands, which is also where my husband and I met in high school after he moved to the U.S. from Venezuela. We moved to West University in 2017 with our older two boys and later settled in Braeswood Place as our family grew. I joined the Braeswood Place Mom’s Club in 2019 while pregnant with my rainbow baby, just before COVID.

Before becoming a stay-at-home mom, I worked as a teacher. BPMC has been a helpful source of support through shared experiences and the collective knowledge of moms navigating the same season of life. Today, I stay busy volunteering in the community, at my children’s school, and through my nonprofit work. I love building connections and giving back, and I’m grateful to be part of a community that supports families in so many meaningful ways.

5 & Under

My husband and I are both natives of the NW Houston suburbs. After spending early adulthood in the Heights, as we started to grow our family, we craved a safe, family-friendly neighborhood similar to what we grew up with, BUT without the commute. We thought we were searching for a unicorn, but immediately fell in love with Braes Heights.

We moved into the neighborhood during the heart of COVID when it was hard to meet people, but by joining BPMC, I've met some of the kindest people I know and this community has been such an amazing resource.

By day, I manage the Speech Pathologist team at MD Anderson Cancer Center which has a big part of my heart. By night and on weekends, you'll find me in leggings and a hoodie on walks or at the park with my kids in our awesome neighborhood! I'm excited to be a part of and help this amazing community grow!
